OUR STORY

We are Anna and Chiara, Co-Founders and Directors of NARA Workplace Capability Consultancy. Our journey began on a road trip to the University of New England’s 70th anniversary celebration, an unexpected moment that sparked a conversation about the future and what we would pursue if nothing was holding us back. It was during that drive that the idea for NARA began to take shape.

At the time, we were both working in roles with great responsibilities, gaining valuable experience and enjoying the challenge. Yet, we felt a growing desire for something more, something that aligned with our values, our passion for lifelong learning, and our shared belief that businesses thrive when they invest in their people and foster a strong, authentic workplace culture.

​

We also recognised a common challenge across many organisations: the difficulty of balancing strategic staff development with the demands of daily operations. Succession planning, capability building, and employee engagement often fall by the wayside, not due to lack of care, but because time and resources are stretched.​

This is where NARA comes in. Our consultancy is built on the idea that meaningful change happens when strategy, wellbeing, and culture align. We are committed to supporting businesses to develop tailored, sustainable solutions that empower both leaders and teams to grow, professionally, personally, and collectively.

 

We both believe that a big part of our personal identity comes from the work we do and the connections and contributions we make in that space.

Initially, we discussed NARA focusing primarily on emerging leader development, but as our vision evolved, we realised the scope of the needs we could support with our experience was much broader. We are deeply committed to doing work that we’re confident will add value, and we want to help organisations foster growth at all levels.

We are not here to place too much emphasis on one pillar of an organisation that might take away from others. Instead, we focus on finding balanced solutions that ensure every area is working in harmony to drive long-term success.​ In everything we do, we care about sustainable growth and development, for both the people and the business.

 

As senior business executives and owners of our own business, we understand that the need for one is not greater than the other. They are complementary and equally important. We believe in balance and strive to make sure our work reflects that belief.
