Anna-Selina's Story

Anna-Selina Young is an experienced strategist, communicator, and emerging workplace psychologist with a diverse career across Europe, Asia, and Australia. She brings a global perspective to workplace development, grounded in her academic background and practical experience in international development, mental health, and regional community engagement.

Originally from Graz, Austria, a city known for its UNESCO-listed old town and vibrant culture, Anna-Selina holds a Bachelor of Media and Communication Science from the University of Vienna. She completed international studies in the Netherlands in International Communication Management and European Studies, before launching her career with SNV Netherlands Development Organisation.

 

What began as an internship led to a Anna-Selina leading communications for SNV’s REDD+ Program. Based in Vietnam, she implemented strategic communications across Southeast Asia, South America, and Africa, navigating complex international partnerships and sustainability goals.

After relocating to Australia in 2014, Anna-Selina founded Longboard Family Inc., a not-for-profit providing longboarding and mindfulness programs for families, young people, and communities in partnership with local councils, youth services, and national mental health bodies. She later joined headspace Warwick, leading community engagement and supporting young people through clinical intake and assessment.

 

In 2023 Anna-Selina went on to co-manage a $2.5 million community engagement fund for the MacIntyre Wind Farm, one of Queensland’s largest renewable energy projects, enabling her to establish a network across the Southern Downs and Goondiwindi regions.

Alongside her professional work, Anna-Selina has completed a Bachelor (Honours) of Psychological Science, with a focus on workplace wellbeing, executive functioning, and organisational behaviour.

​

As Co-Founder and Director of NARA Workplace Capability Consultancy, Anna-Selina integrates her strengths in communication, psychology, and systems thinking to support organisations in building authentic, capable, and future-ready workplaces. Her work is grounded in neuroscience and a genuine commitment to people-centred, sustainable growth.
